James St is delighted to work with local artist Ross Manning and Milani Gallery to present Chronochromie—a kinetic sculpture installed in the James St Market atrium for the duration of December 2021 and January 2022.
Artist Ross Manning creates kinetic sculptures made from overlooked everyday items, repurposing them to create dynamic sculptures and atmospheric installations that playfully explore the relationship between technology and people.
Chronochromie comprises the common domestic fan, fluorescent lights, and electronics to charmingly transform normally unseen technology into a highly visible artwork through the use of hypnotic exchanges between light and movement.
